A mountain Bike Park for all skill levels nestled in the heart of Pohorje, the park features a variety of trails for riders of all abilities, including the legendary “World Cup” track, which has hosted downhill world championships since 1999.
Visitors can descend almost directly into the city center of Maribor, with trails designed for beginners, families, advanced riders, seasoned cyclists, and professionals.
A highlight among the routes is the “Flow Line”, stretching approximately 5.2 km from the upper station of the Pohorje Cable Car down to the valley, with a vertical drop of 702 meters.
For those seeking a greater challenge, the “Red Line” offers a 3.2 km ride with a 490-meter descent, featuring high berms and jumps.
Created by mountain bikers for mountain bikers, the park offers more than just adrenaline – it delivers a complete biking experience.

POHORJE CYCLING ROUTE – HOČKO POHORJE
The Pohorje – Mariborsko Pohorje Cycling Route is the shortest circular cycling trail on the Pohorje plateau, connecting two key centers – Bellevue and Areh.
It links with three cycling routes that connect Pohorje to the valley: the Pohorje – Hočko Pohorje Cycling Routes.
Set out to discover the Fram Waterfall (Slap Fram) or Skalca Waterfall, and explore the charming white chapels scattered across Pohorje. Take in breathtaking views of the vast Pohorje forests, stretching all the way to the Drava Plain and beyond. Don’t miss a visit to the Botanical Garden, the Slivnica Ponds, Pivola Pond and Tree Avenue, or the Hompoš Castle.
Recharge with positive energy and inner balance at the energy points near Bolfenk, right at the top of Pohorje.
And of course – taste the authentic Pohorje cuisine: the hearty Pohorski pisker (a traditional stew), Pohorska bunka (cured meat), and the sweet and fluffy Pohorje omelette.

POHORJE CYCLING CROSS-TRAIL
The Pohorje Cycling Transversal (PT) follows the ridgelines of the Pohorje hills, connecting the eastern and western parts of the range. The route is marked in both directions with PT signs.
This dynamic 75-kilometer trail invites cyclists to discover the natural beauty and attractions of Pohorje via forest roads – stretching from the Church of St. Bolfenk on the Maribor side all the way to the hut beneath Kremžar Peak on the Carinthian side of Pohorje.
POHORJE CYCLING ROUTE – MARIBORSKO POHORJE (BELLEVUE – AREH)
The Bellevue Cycling Route is the shortest circular cycling trail along the ridge of Pohorje, connecting two key centers – Bellevue and Areh. This section is also suitable for families with older children.
The ride starts at Mariborsko Pohorje, near the upper gondola station, and continues toward Areh – or in the opposite direction.
SLOVENSKA TURNOKOLESARSKA POT – STKP
Mountain Biking is Becoming an Increasingly Popular Activity Among Members of the Alpine Association of Slovenia (PZS).
As an additional incentive for its development, the PZS Mountain Biking Commission has created a circular mountain biking trail that loops around all major Slovenian mountain ranges. The route spans approximately 1,800 kilometers and features 50,000 meters of elevation gain.
The trail includes 109 checkpoint locations, which riders can validate with stamps in their STKP Diary to confirm their visit. Among the checkpoints are 52 mountain huts, offering rest and refreshment along the way.
The Slovenian Mountain Biking Trail (STKP) is divided into 41 stages – and 3 of them take you across the ridgeline of Pohorje.

- 30. stage: Ruška koča – Ribniška koča
- 31. stage: Ruška koča – Dom na Košenjaku
KORDEK – BPP
A trail designed for experienced mountain bikers.
You’ll face an 8 km moderate climb with 600 meters of elevation gain. The route takes you past the well-known Šanijeva Klop rest point, popular among hikers and cyclists, and continues toward the Videc and Stolp ski slopes.
Just below the summit, you’ll reach the iconic Church of St. Bolfenk. At the top of Mariborsko Pohorje, a scenic plateau offers breathtaking views over Maribor. This is also your rest and refreshment stop before enjoying a 5 km mountain bike descent into the valley.
STKP RUŠKA KOČA – RIBNIŠKA KOČA
This stage of the mountain biking trail takes you through some of the most remote and wild areas of Pohorje.
While it doesn’t feature any particularly long climbs or descents, you’ll still accumulate a fair amount of elevation. Throughout the ride, you’ll cycle along quiet forest roads, surrounded by nature and far from the crowds – a true escape into the wilderness of Pohorje.
